Kriptomat winds down after withdrawing its MiCA application
Kriptomat published an official wind-down notice on 19 May 2026 stating that after more than eight years it would cease regulated crypto operations by 30 June 2026. Management said it had invested heavily toward Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) authorization but ultimately withdrew the application because licensing timelines and unclear requirements were incompatible with a sustainable path forward. The company emphasized it remained solvent, that customer assets were available for withdrawal, and that it had arranged a customer transition partnership with Kraken while keeping support available through the wind-down.
