Orionx winds down after custody audit
Orionx told users in early September 2026 that a forensic review found more than $7 million of custodied assets in external wallets and that the exchange was permanently closing. CryptoBriefing and Bitcoin.com reported criminal complaints against founding partners Joaquín Díaz and Roberto Zibert, who denied the allegations. Chile’s Financial Market Commission separately confirmed it had rejected Orionx’s authorization application and would not supervise the wind-down.
