On 2 June 2025 Consensys announced the acquisition of Web3Auth, a wallet-as-a-service and key-management provider, to improve MetaMask user experience around seed-phrase management and embedded wallets. The Block reported the deal terms were undisclosed and that Web3Auth leadership framed the move as joining Consensys to deepen MetaMask integrations.
