We are seeking a local FinOps Manager in Spain to lead our financial operations, cost governance, and local statutory accounting. This hybrid position bridges traditional accounting (Plan General Contable, tax compliance, and MiCA regulatory support) with operational FinOps, taking ownership of unit economics and operational spending optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, general ledger reconciliations, fixed assets, and monthly/quarterly/annual closing processes under Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
- Prepare and file local tax returns (VAT/IVA, Corporate Income Tax/IS, withholdings/IRPF) in compliance with the Agencia Tributaria (AEAT).
- Execute daily reconciliations between internal ledgers, bank accounts, custody wallets, and crypto payment rails to ensure strict client asset segregation.
- Assist the CFO in compiling financial data for CNMV regulatory returns, annual audit files, and internal management reporting.
- Process invoice approvals, vendor payments, expense reports, and intercompany settlements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors during statutory and regulatory audit engagements.
- Implement financial forecasting, set automated budget thresholds, and perform root-cause analysis on cost spikes or operational anomalies in real time.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be a current legal and tax resident in Spain with the right to work.
- 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience in Spain, ideally within financial services, FinTech, e-commerce, or professional accounting services.
- Expert knowledge of Spanish Accounting Standards (Plan General Contable), local tax laws, and modern ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Xero, or local software like Sage/Holded).
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data reconciliation, with familiarity or interest in digital asset/crypto transactions.
- Native/Bilingual Spanish and professional working proficiency in English.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent local qualification (Grado en Contabilidad y Finanzas).
