ROLE: Corporate Accountant
- Location: Hybrid – Etobicoke, ON (minimum 2 days in-office)
- Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000
- Environment: Fast-paced, multi-entity fintech operations
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive accounting professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and navigating complex financial operations across multiple entities and currencies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support full-cycle accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and investigate discrepancies with internal teams and Cash-in-Transit (CIT) partners
- Review, monitor, and report on high-volume crypto and cash transactions using internal systems
- Manage Accounts Payable: invoice processing, payment preparation, vendor inquiries
- Process banking, crypto, and other financial transactions for approval by senior finance team members
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and prepare supporting reconciliations
- Prepare schedules, working papers, and analyses for financial reporting, audits, and special projects
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures to ensure deadlines and accuracy
- Apply accounting policies under ASPE and IFRS related to revenue, cost of sales, inventory, fixed assets, loans, etc.
- Support compliance with local, provincial, and federal reporting, licensing, and tax requirements
- Assist during external and statutory audits by gathering documentation and responding to requests
- Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and ad-hoc analyses
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- Experience in a multi-entity accounting environment
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Background in fintech, tech, or high-growth startups
- Hands-on experience with cryptocurrency transactions or digital assets
- Experience with multi-currency accounting
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
