ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be a full-time member of the Communications & Strategy team, 100% focused on one mission: building the Miami tech community with Hut 8 at its center. You'll own everything from local media strategy to hosting events at our Brickell headquarters. You'll become the connective tissue between Hut 8 and Miami's thriving startup ecosystem, making us the anchor company that founders, investors, and engineers know and trust.
This is not a supporting role. This is a leadership role. You're building something new.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Hut 8's local media strategy—securing coverage in Miami-area press and positioning the company as a tech leader in energy and digital infrastructure.
- Develop and execute a conference and events strategy—identifying key Miami-area tech conferences, securing speaking engagements, and managing sponsorships.
- Plan and host tech events, meetups, and community gatherings at Hut 8's new 56,000 square foot Brickell office—making it the place where the Miami tech community wants to be.
- Build relationships with entrepreneurs, VCs, accelerators, and tech leaders across South Florida—becoming a trusted connector.
- Create a recognizable Hut 8 community brand in Miami—ensuring we're known as the company driving the local tech ecosystem forward.
- Collaborate with the broader comms and PR team to ensure local efforts align with national and global messaging.
- Partner with the People team to position Hut 8 as a top employer in Miami's tech ecosystem. Leveraging community events, local press, ecosystem relationships, and campus presence to build a talent pipeline alongside brand awareness.
ABOUT YOU
- Deeply embedded in the Miami tech scene—you know the players, the venues, the events, the momentum
- Tech background—you understand the industry and can speak credibly with founders, investors, and engineers
- Likely relocated to Miami in the post-COVID wave and have built a strong, authentic local network
- PR/comms background with proven experience in media relations, event management, or community building
- Entrepreneurial—comfortable building from scratch, owning outcomes, and moving fast
- Strong network across Miami's tech, venture, and media communities
- Excellent communicator—written, verbal, and interpersonal skills that inspire and engage
