Binance is a leading global blockchain ecosystem behind the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and registered users. We are trusted by 300+ million people in 100+ countries for our industry-leading security, user fund transparency, trading engine speed, deep liquidity, and an unmatched portfolio of digital-asset products. Binance offerings range from trading and finance to education, research, payments, institutional services, Web3 features, and more. We leverage the power of digital assets and blockchain to build an inclusive financial ecosystem to advance the freedom of money and improve financial access for people around the world.
We are seeking a senior finance technology leader to own the vision, strategy, and execution of our financial systems landscape. This role heads the Financial Systems function — responsible for ERP and sub-ledger platforms, internal tooling, automation, and AI-driven transformation across the finance organisation. In a tech-crunch environment, you will build and lead a lean team that is self-sufficient: capable of designing, building, and deploying solutions without heavy reliance on external engineering. You are equally comfortable in the weeds building prototypes and in the boardroom securing buy-in for transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the financial systems strategy and roadmap across ERP, sub-ledgers, reporting, reconciliation, and automation platforms.
- Build, lead, and develop the Financial Systems team: own hiring, performance management, mentoring, and career growth; foster a builder culture where team members self-serve with tools, scripts, and AI.
- Manage team capacity and workload: prioritize initiatives, balance operational support against transformation projects, and ensure sustainable delivery cadence.
- Drive finance transformation end-to-end: identify manual processes, design automation solutions, and oversee implementation from prototype to production.
- Own the ERP platform strategy: integrations, data model, customizations, and upgrade path.
- Champion AI and automation adoption across finance: LLM-powered workflows, RPA, copilots, anomaly detection, and automated JE generation.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines between finance systems, data warehouses, and BI tools — with a bias toward building in-house when vendor solutions are slow or costly.
- Partner with Finance leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions — act as the bridge between accounting operations and engineering.
- Own system controls, audit readiness, and data integrity across all financial platforms; ensure SOX/compliance requirements are met.
- Establish a self-service toolkit (Python, SQL, VBA, low-code platforms, AI assistants) that enables finance ops to solve day-to-day problems without system admin bottlenecks.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate build-vs-buy decisions with a strong default toward build when speed and flexibility matter.
- Oversee UAT governance and release management for all financial system changes.
- Report to finance and senior leadership on transformation progress, automation metrics, and system health.
Requirements
- 12–15+ years across finance operations, systems, and technology leadership — ideally in FinTech, Financial Services, or fast-paced tech.
- Deep ERP expertise (NetSuite, SAP, or Workday) including integrations, data migrations, and platform strategy.
- Proven track record leading finance transformation programs — automation, system consolidations, or greenfield platform implementations.
- Hands-on builder mindset: proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or VBA; comfort prototyping solutions directly.
- Demonstrated experience deploying AI/ML or RPA in production finance environments (JE automation, reconciliation, anomaly detection, reporting).
- Experience building and leading lean, high-output teams — including hiring, performance management, and developing talent in resource-constrained environments.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, SOX/compliance, and audit requirements for financial systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management — able to influence CFO-level leadership and collaborate with engineering counterparts.
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change; bias toward action and building over planning and delegating.
- Passion for crypto and blockchain technology.
