The Role
As a KYC Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) lifecycle for our merchants. This role is critical to ensuring Coinflow remains compliant while enabling smooth onboarding.. You will conduct thorough reviews and manage ongoing program requirements, while also identifying gaps and opportunities to improve our processes. You will develop SOPs, design and implement new workflows, and partner closely with Product and Engineering to drive product changes, tooling improvements, and automation. You will help protect our platform from regulatory and compliance risks, collaborating closely with internal teams across Compliance & Risk, Engineering, Integrations, Support, etc.
What You'll Do
- KYC/KYB Reviews: Own KYC/KYB reviews throughout merchant onboarding, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements while identifying opportunities to improve review quality, efficiency, and scalability.
- EDD Reviews: Manage Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews of KYC information during merchant onboarding, knowing the escalation paths for executive or leadership review or sign-off as needed.
- Product Expansion: Handle post-onboarding merchant requests for product or regional expansion, which may require conducting additional KYC/KYB or enhanced due diligence reviews to ensure compliance with new jurisdictional standards.
- Periodic Reviews & Recordkeeping: Oversee ongoing KYC/KYB maintenance and periodic reviews, ensuring merchant records remain complete and current and coordinating collection of updated documentation as needed.
- Program Management: Drive KYC/KYB initiatives as Coinflow expands into new regions, products, and banking relationships, translating new requirements into operational processes, controls, and playbooks working alongside Global MLROs and Underwriting Team.
- Collaboration: Serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders by providing guidance on KYC documentation requirements and resolving compliance-related inquiries across the organization.
- KYC Reliance Reviews: Perform compliance assessments of partner KYC/AML programs for merchants utilizing third-party verification, ensuring alignment with Coinflow's reliance standards prior to integration.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in KYC/AML within fintech, payments, or banking.
- Subject matter expertise with different jurisdictional compliance requirements and KYC/KYB for business entities and individuals.
- Familiarity with fraud signals and the ability to detect these during KYC review.
- Develop and manage program-level processes and requirements with a view toward growing into a team lead position.
- Strong communication skills and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science/Liberal Arts, Business, Economics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with KYC/KYB platforms such as Persona, Middesk, Sumsub, or similar identity and business verification tools.
- Familiarity with KYC/KYB and AML requirements across the US, Canada, EU, LATAM, or other international markets.
- Experience in payments, fintech, banking, or another highly regulated, high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with bank, acquirer, or payment partner compliance requirements and due diligence expectations.
- Experience building or improving KYC/KYB workflows, SOPs, controls, and operational processes.
- Background in high-growth payment companies and knowledge of banking partner requirements.
The base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000 USD. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skills, qualifications and business needs.
