About the Opportunity ✍️
MoonPay is looking for a Global Risk & Compliance Specialist to join our growing Compliance team. In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening MoonPay’s global risk framework and ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
You’ll work cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Operations, and regional stakeholders to identify, assess, and document risks, support compliance testing and monitoring, and maintain a robust Process, Risk & Control (PRC) inventory. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory landscape - particularly within crypto - and wants to help build scalable compliance infrastructure at a high-growth company.
This role is ideal for a hands-on risk and compliance professional who can operate independently in moderately complex scenarios while contributing to broader team objectives.
What you will do
- Conduct risk assessments (including RCSAs) to identify, analyse, and document financial, operational, legal, and reputational risks across the business.
- Maintain and enhance MoonPay’s Process, Risk & Control (PRC) Inventory, ensuring risks and controls are clearly documented and aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Perform compliance testing and monitoring activities across Compliance and business functions, identifying control gaps and tracking remediation.
- Support global regulatory compliance efforts by ensuring policies, procedures, and controls align with applicable laws and industry standards (including EU and other key jurisdictions).
- Prepare clear, data-driven reporting and risk insights for senior leadership to support decision-making and governance oversight.
- Stay informed on emerging crypto-related regulatory developments and evolving risk trends, proactively highlighting potential impacts to the business.
What you will need
- 2+ years of experience in risk management and/or regulatory compliance, ideally within fintech, financial services, or crypto.
- Direct professional experience in cryptocurrency
- Experience with risk and compliance requirements in various EU jurisdictions
- Demonstrated ability to independently assess moderately complex risk and compliance scenarios and propose practical, scalable solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into effective controls.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional and international stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus qualifications
- Professional certifications (CRMP, CRCM, CCEP, CAMS, or similar).
- Experience working in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
- Professional fluency in Dutch.
