About us

OpenZeppelin is the security standard onchain finance is built on. Founded in 2015, our mission is to accelerate the world's transition to an open financial system, built on open standards and secured by rigorous research.

Our open-source Contract Libraries have facilitated over $35 trillion in onchain value and are used by 10 of the top 10 tokenized money market funds and 9 of the top 10 stablecoins by market cap.

We combine AI-native security tooling with deep research and a decade of audit expertise to support leading institutions and crypto-native teams shaping the next generation of digital assets like DTCC, Fidelity, Coinbase, Uniswap, Aave, the Ethereum Foundation, and many more across the full secure development lifecycle.

Please note: Always refer to OpenZeppelin's official job page for the most accurate information about our open roles, as we have seen multiple third party job sites posting inaccurate information.

The Marketing Team

The Marketing Team at OpenZeppelin drives awareness and adoption across every product and service we ship, from the flagship OpenZeppelin Contracts Libraries to open source development tooling like Relayers and Monitor and the new Financial Institutions Stack. Working hand-in-hand with Product, Design, Sales, and Open Source Engineering, the team owns messaging, go-to-market strategy, content, and events that position OpenZeppelin as the standard for blockchain development.

What you'll be doing

As OpenZeppelin's Senior Developer Relations for Canton, you'll be the dedicated, senior technical owner of developer adoption for our open-source stack on Canton. Over a 24-month, quarterly-milestone program, OpenZeppelin is bringing an audited Daml Contracts Library and a portfolio of production-ready Reference Implementations (DEX, Lending, Cross-Chain Stablecoin, Confidential Auction) to the network.

Your mandate is singular and high-stakes: turn that engineering output into measurable ecosystem adoption, against defined adoption milestones that the engagement's value depends on. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy as the senior technical face to the Canton Foundation, and Digital Asset, while working closely with our Daml engineering team and the wider Marketing function. This role reports directly to the Head of Marketing. You'll divide your time across technical content, community and event engagement, and ecosystem co-marketing execution:

  • Own end-to-end developer adoption for OpenZeppelin's Canton stack, accountable for Contracts Library integrations and Reference Implementation deployments
  • Create technical content (tutorials, guides, Daml examples, video walkthroughs) for each milestone release and maintain Canton documentation
  • Run quarterly community sessions and provide hands-on coaching at Canton hackathons, conferences, and incubators (2–3 trips/year)
  • Supply technical substance for co-marketing with partners like ChainSafe, and track adoption signals (integrations, forks, deployments) to report against program milestones

You have

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or a similar role, including demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a developer-adoption outcome (not just content or event execution).
  • 1-3+ years of experience working in the blockchain industry, with a strong technical background.
  • A proven record of producing engaging, high-quality technical content across various channels, and of setting content and adoption strategy rather than only executing it.
  • Solidity/EVM fluency, which is the bridge for the Ethereum-native developers Canton is actively targeting. You'll translate familiar EVM patterns into Canton's Daml-based, privacy-preserving model.
  • Experience delivering technical workshops, presentations, and live coding sessions at conferences and community events.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with Daml, Canton, or the Digital Asset ecosystem (Splice, Canton SDK, CIP standards such as CIP-56, CIP-86, CIP-103, CIP-104).
  • Experience with privacy-preserving or UTXO-based architectures (our LunarSwap work on Midnight solved many of the same challenges Canton developers face).
  • Familiarity with the needs of financial institutions building on-chain (Canton's adoption is institution-led, e.g. DTCC bringing tokenizable assets to the network).
  • Knowledge of Daml**,** or a strong functional-programming background (Haskell, Scala, OCaml, etc.) with a demonstrated ability to ramp fast on a new smart contract language. While you won't be required to develop production smart contracts, you should be able to produce Daml examples, guides, and other technical content that clearly demonstrate best practices and our technology in action.
  • Experience working with ecosystem partnerships or multi-stakeholder technical marketing initiatives.
  • Hands-on coding experience in other languages relevant to blockchain development (e.g., Rust, Typescript, etc).
