Build a Safer World.
TRM Labs provides AI-powered intelligence solutions that help public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. TRM's platforms enable investigators to trace illicit activity, build cases, and construct operating pictures of threat networks. Leading agencies and businesses worldwide rely on TRM to make the world safer and more secure.
About the role
The Senior Intelligence Analyst owns TRM’s blockchain intelligence for a priority coverage area. You turn on-chain tracing, OSINT, and diverse intel signals into finished intelligence across scam/fraud, counter-narcotics, and facilitation and money laundering. You lead industry-leading work against professional money laundering organizations, illicit gambling networks, and related actors.
What is unique here: you build the AI-driven pipelines that turn many signals into attribution, making one of TRM’s highest-priority coverage areas a strength.
The impact you will have
- Deepen TRM’s coverage by owning your area end-to-end and delivering finished, source-cited intelligence products across multiple threat categories.
- Build end-to-end AI capability that processes a wide variety of intel signals and augments target selection, so you generate leads faster and at greater scale.
- Trace funds across chains and through obfuscation, and correlate on-chain activity with OSINT, including Mandarin-language sources, to attribute money laundering organizations, threat actors, and gambling networks.
- Drive attribution and leads that improve delivery in Mission (scam/fraud), Counter Narcotics, Nation States, and Facilitation and Money Laundering.
- Set ambitious, industry-leading targets for your coverage area and raise the bar on tradecraft.
- Build reusable AI pipelines and methods the broader Intelligence team adopts.
What we’re looking for
- 5 to 8+ years in blockchain intelligence, crypto investigations, threat intelligence, or financial-crime investigations.
- Strong OSINT and off-chain investigative tradecraft: you connect on-chain activity to real-world people, companies, and networks. Hands-on blockchain tracing experience is a plus, not a requirement; we train strong investigators on our tooling.
- Domain expertise in professional money laundering organizations, illicit gambling networks, and underground banking.
- Mandarin Chinese fluency is a strong plus.
- Production AI fluency: you build end-to-end pipelines that process diverse intel signals and augment target selection, and you critically evaluate the output.
- A track record of independently running complex investigations and producing clear, source-cited written intelligence.
- US-based preferred, not required.
About the Team
- You will join TRM’s Blockchain Intelligence (Primary Intelligence) organization, a distributed team producing finished intelligence across threat categories.
- The work is intellectually demanding: you keep real investigative proficiency across on-chain and OSINT tradecraft while owning a priority coverage area.
- Mission-first, high-autonomy, execution-oriented culture with rigorous analytical standards.
- AI-native team: analysts build reusable pipelines the whole team adopts.
Team Operating Rhythms
- Distributed, not distant: a US-based analyst collaborating across time zones with regular overlap for syncs.
- Slack-first, async communication; @mention for timely responses.
- Weekly 1:1s and team syncs, plus case and category rhythms.
- Regular cross-category coordination with other Intelligence pods and Global Investigations.
- Required online and collaboration hours: standard business hours in your timezone, with 3-4 hours overlap across US time zones (EST preferred) for internal syncs.
Travel Requirements:
- Schedule: Occasional travel for team engagements.
- Frequency: Low.
Onsite Requirements:
- Schedule: None required; distributed/remote role.
Learn about TRM Speed in this position
- Within your first 30 days, take ownership of an active case in your coverage area and deliver a finished, source-cited intelligence product.
- Within 60 days, build an end-to-end AI pipeline that processes diverse intel signals for augmented target selection and that another analyst can reuse.
- Within 90 days, measurably deepen coverage against money laundering organizations or gambling networks, with attribution and leads that support cross-category delivery.
