About the Company:
World is building a real human network designed to accelerate people in the age of AI. As bots and autonomous agents reshape the internet, people, institutions, and applications need a trusted way to confirm who is a real human while preserving privacy. Our products make this possible: the Orb verifies real people, World ID proves it privately, and World App enables and distributes the new applications made possible by this technology. Together, they form a new layer for AI internet.
We’re one of the fastest-growing networks in tech. More than 17 million people across 160 countries have verified with World ID, and we complete over 350,000 verifications each week. World App is already among the most used wallets globally. Developers are integrating World ID to build safer online experiences and create spaces where real people can participate, earn, and be recognized in ways AI simply can’t replicate.
World was founded in 2019 and launched globally in 2023. We are more than 400 people across hardware, software, AI, cryptography, mobile engineering, and global operations. Our teams come from OpenAI, Tesla, SpaceX, Apple, Google, Stripe, Meta, Coinbase, Palantir and MIT Media Lab. We’re backed by leading investors, including a16z, Khosla Ventures, Bain Capital Crypto, Blockchain Capital, Variant, Tiger Global, and Coinbase Ventures, as well as prominent operators and founders across fintech and AI.
World has been featured on the cover of TIME Magazine, highlighted in Fast Company’s Next 5 in Fintech, and explored in a Bloomberg deep dive. The New York Times, Bankless and TechCrunch have all recognized our progress in identity, cryptography, AI, and global-scale hardware deployment. Our leadership is also named to the Time AI 100. About the team
The Growth Squad owns the features that bring people into World App and keeps them engaged. These features include (1) User incentives (e.g., invites, rewards), (2) User Lifecycle (e.g., notification centre, onboarding, retention experiments), and (3) Growth modalities (e.g., Find an Orb and new ways to drive user growth). The Growth team sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and economics and serves millions of users daily. The Growth team is responsible for driving World’s biggest priority across the entirety of the business: reaching critical scale and driving World's north star metrics. The focus of the Munich-based team is on all things user incentives, while also working on other priorities when needed. The team is small, high-intensity, and passionate, with close collaboration with colleagues in San Francisco.
About the role
We are looking for an Android engineer who wants to own the full growth surface area in the World App. This is not a role where you build one feature and move on. You will be responsible for core priorities in the Android growth - primarily focus on user incentives, but often working on other important areas across the Growth team including onboarding and modalities. You may work on the first screen a new user sees to the systems that power referrals and rewards. Important is that you understand the impact you can have with every experience and are willing to own the work to complete. You will ship fast, measure everything, and iterate based on what the data tells you. You will work closely with product, backend, design, economics, and data to deliver features that meaningfully move user acquisition and retention.
The Opportunity
- Own all required Android growth surfaces in the World App focusing on incentives while working on onboarding, notification centre, and modalities.
- Ship features and experiments at high velocity, working in tight collaboration with product, backend, and design.
- Instrument growth flows for analytics and experimentation, ensuring every feature is measurable and every funnel is tracked.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with economics, data, and operations teams to understand the full context of how growth features perform.
- Improve the Android codebase for experimentation velocity: feature flags, modular architecture, testability.
- Debug and resolve issues quickly when growth flows break or underperform, treating reliability as a first-class concern.
- Navigate Android-specific challenges including device fragmentation, OS version compatibility, and performance across a wide range of hardware.
About You
- Strong Android development experience in Kotlin, with a track record of shipping user-facing features in a production app.
- A growth engineering mindset: you care about metrics, think in funnels, and are energized by rapid experimentation and iteration.
- Experience delivering features end-to-end, from requirements through release and post-launch monitoring.
- Comfort working across teams and communicating clearly with non-engineering stakeholders (product, design, data, economics).
- Familiarity with analytics instrumentation, A/B testing, or feature flag systems on Android.
- A bias for action and ownership: you do not wait to be told what to do next.
