ROLE: Infrastructure Software Engineer
- Focus: Build and maintain Zora’s scalable, highly available infrastructure, including indexer services, APIs, data pipelines, disaster recovery, and blockchain-related systems
- Type: Full-time, remote-first (US-based employees)
Zora is seeking an experienced engineer to help design, operate, and enhance the developer platform and core blockchain infrastructure.
EXAMPLES OF ZORA INFRASTRUCTURE
- RPC Proxy: Intelligently routes blockchain traffic between in-house and vendor nodes
- Deployment Platform: Reduces friction for engineers deploying, monitoring, and managing production code
- Kubernetes Cluster: Highly performant in-house cluster running on bare metal servers
- Zora RPC Service: Surfaces blockchain data for core indexing infrastructure
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and deliver software to enhance availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of infrastructure
- Provide technical and strategic input on platform direction
- Operate and maintain core systems to improve the developer experience
- Automate key infrastructure workflows, including service lifecycle and operational processes
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering, focused on software development
- Proficiency in Go (preferred) or Python
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems
- Operational experience with distributed storage systems (e.g., Ceph)
- Familiarity with Python’s asyncio programming model
- Experience with frontend serverless platforms (Vercel, Cloudflare Pages Functions)
- Understanding of Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains, including L2 architectures like Polygon, Optimism, and Base
- Knowledge of L2 scaling solutions: optimistic rollups, zk-rollups, Plasma, sidechains, and bridges
- Strong experience with MongoDB and Postgres
- Solid understanding of monitoring and observability (Datadog, OpenTelemetry)
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across orchestration layers and system runtimes
- Clear, collaborative, service-oriented communication skills
- Passion for learning and exploring new technologies
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 (US)
- Additional Compensation: Equity + tokens
- Compensation may vary based on location, experience, and expertise. Exceptional candidates may be considered near the top of the range.
