Safe Software is looking for a Pre-Sales Solutions Specialist I to support technical conversations, deliver compelling product demonstrations and proof of concepts, and guide prospects through product evaluations.
In this role, you will practice the fundamentals of sales engineering – work closely with the Sales team, translating customer requirements into practical solutions using FME. You will build your technical and communication skills while gaining hands-on experience with customer interactions.
You will also collaborate with teams across the organization, including Product, Development, Marketing, and Customer Experience, to support customer needs and improve the pre-sales experience. This role is well-suited to someone who is curious, enjoys learning, and is motivated to grow in a customer-facing technical role.
About the Team
Safe Software’s Pre-Sales Solutions team is part of our Customer Experience group. We help potential customers understand how FME can solve their data integration challenges. From product demonstrations to trial support, we ensure each product evaluation experience is smooth, informative, and grounded in real-world applications. Collaboration is central to how we work—across teams and with our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Pre-Sales Solutions Specialist I, you will:
- Build foundational knowledge of the FME Platform and its real-world use cases.
- Work with the Sales team to understand customer needs and support pre-sales activities.
- Participate in scoping calls with prospective customers
- Prepare and deliver product demonstrations and proof of concepts tailored to customer challenges
- Respond to technical questions from prospective customers.
- Lead technical discussions with prospective and existing customers.
- Create and update technical resources on the FME Knowledge Base
- Contribute to the FME Community
- Help create content and resources for prospective and new customers.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing through internal documentation, blog posts, and webinars.
- Participate in beta testing of new FME builds, bringing a customer lens to product feedback.
- Share customer insights with internal teams to help shape the product and customer experience.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Customer Education teams to support onboarding improvements.
What We’re Looking For
Safers come from a variety of backgrounds with diverse skills and knowledge. That being said, those who are most successful in this role have experience with the following:
- Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant field (such as GIS, data analytics, system integration, or business analysis).
- Up to 2 years of experience working with technical products in a customer-facing, analytical, project-based, support, or related role.
- Exposure to the FME Platform or similar data integration tools is an asset but not required.
- Clear and approachable communication skills.
- Interest in developing presentation skills.
- Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn new approaches.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Comfortable asking questions and learning from feedback.
- Adaptable and open to change.
- Exposure to AI tools and an interest in using them to support troubleshooting, documentation, or workflows.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with GIS, databases, business systems or data integration tools.
- Background in a customer-facing role such as technical support or professional services.
- Experience creating technical content or documentation.
