The role in a nutshell:

The Senior Data Analyst will lead the Customer Success data consolidation and reporting initiatives, focusing on driving automation and standardisation. This includes designing and optimising data models, building and maintaining scalable dashboards and reports on Luno’s BI platform, and performing in-depth analysis to translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role also encompasses providing mentorship and championing data literacy across the Customer Success team.

Your mission will be:

  • Lead the continued evolution of the Customer Success Data Consolidation Project, driving automation, standardisation, and the reduction of manual reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the design and optimisation of data models and underlying tables supporting the consolidation initiative.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable dashboards, reports, and visualisations within Luno’s BI platform.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Partner proactively with stakeholders to clarify requirements, prioritise initiatives, and align deliverables with business objectives.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for Customer Success data definitions, processes, and reporting logic.
  • Provide guidance, quality control, and mentorship to junior team members to uplift overall team capability.
  • Champion data literacy by promoting best practices, enabling self-service, and driving adoption of reporting tools across Customer Success.

A little about you:Requirements & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in data analysis or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and extensive experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience with dimensional modelling (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and analytical methodologies.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or ThoughtSpot.
  • Advanced Excel skills for complex data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data pipelines, and database design principles.

Technical & Analytical Capabilities

  • Ability to clean, transform, validate, and prepare large datasets for analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Experience designing scalable reporting solutions and supporting data models.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

  • Strong understanding of business processes and supporting systems, with the ability to interpret the data they generate to produce meaningful insights.
  • Ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations aligned to organisational goals.
  • Business acumen to contextualise insights within strategic and operational priorities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Confidence presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences.
